new jewelry for November
November, 2011

Fall greetings to all! This new release has been a bit of a struggle to produce. Too much day job overtime and too much illness have meant too little time to make pretty things. A few things are better than no things though and they were fun to create even if they arrive a month and a day later than originally intended. We would like to say that there will be another small release for December, but circumstances will likely be similar and we have some very labor intensive private commissions to finish so we are not certain that time will allow. We will send out the next newsletter when we have more pieces ready to sell.

The November release includes a small selection of necklaces in a variety of styles, two rings and a sleek modern bracelet. Three necklaces were made for the big boys: a glossy hematite choker, an earthy kyanite and stone choker, and a sparkling sterling and garnet chain. The other three necklaces are more elegant and feminine in style and feature bright pink rubies, a Swiss blue topaz and a decadent number of faceted amethysts. We have discovered some marvelous slender Italian velvet cord that is very strong, does not shed or stain and is made in many beautiful colors, so we hope to use it in more pieces in the future. Please note that the rings up for auction this month have a very specific fit: the garnet ring is shaped precisely to fit 70cm Dollshe boys and the spiral ring is a better fit for the smaller Delf boy fingers.

We did not call in any of the local elder iplehouse boys to model the extra large necklaces this month, but we do have a very special guest model featured in the release. SDink's Volks F-38 SD17 boy Keane has been hanging around getting spoiled for a few weeks, so we put him to work. Please enjoy the extra eye candy!

Speaking of eye candy, more pieces from the past have been added to all five of the elemental galleries for your perusal. As always, if there are jewelry styles from our gallery that you hope will become available again in the future, please let us know!

new auctions begin!
July, 2011

Greetings all! This is the first time we are using our new newsletter format. We will miss creating the preview slideshows, but the sales process needed streamlining to accomodate our reduced workforce. That means there is no wait for the release: new sterling silver jewelry is up for auction on eBay now!

The July release includes a selection of gemstone necklaces using citrine, carnelian, malachite and blue sapphire cabochons. Also in this release is a second, much clamoured for Murano glass torsade this time in cool colors and a smaller size. Rounding out the necklace selection are some sleeker pieces - a vintage glass lariat, an all-sterling piece featuring a new dapped cable chain, and a choker made from tiny abalone shell heshi we found while in Tokyo.

Most exciting for us in this release are the new rings. We are offering four new bands featuring the alchemical glyphs for Air, Fire, Earth and Water. Because the glyphs for Fire/Water and Air/Earth are the same symbol oriented differently, the band for each glyph has been given a texture that relates to the specific element. This allows the wearer to orient the ring in either direction without the glyph losing its meaning.

For the first time in our five year history we are offering ring with a faceted gemstone in a prong setting. We have been reluctant to do so because prong settings are much more delicate than bezel settings, and they do not tolerate rough handling. We always recommend removing your doll's rings when changing clothes or travelling, but doubly so for this type of ring. The trade-off for the delicacy of the prong setting is the amount of light it lets into the brilliant white topaz! We are not sure if this ring type will become a standard offering, but there will certainly be a few more sparkly topazes in the future.

a quick update
May, 2011

We have closed shop through the end of June for a much needed vacation, but we wanted to let you know that we will be working on a new release during some of that time. We'll have an auction ready to start on July first. Rather than sending a newsletter with a preview ahead of the sale we will be sending out a notice on the day the auctions begin. Any orders placed for pieces that are currently in stock will be filled at the end of May in the order in which they were recieved. We will re-open for orders of custom-fitted rings in mid-July.

In the meantime, orangebabydolly has reluctantly decided to part with her Mecha Angel Saiph, her Delf Juri and her Bambicroni Elf Inez. She plans to devote her attention to finally finishing her Heliot girl, whom we hope to use a a model for the upcoming release. Also moving on are idrisfynn's Dollmore Glamour Eve Emile and St. James' Everpurple Iris. New dolls always seem to be on the way, however.

new sterling silver jewelry
March, 2011

It has been a long time since we've posted an update, and for that we apologize!

The fabrication of our basic line of sterling silver and gemstone rings was turned over to St. James at the midpoint of 2010 to great success. The upcoming release and all future jewelry sold by orangebabydolly jewels will be created by St. James. orangebabydolly is still an integral part of the business as technical advisor and final quality control, but circumstances no longer allow her to do the actual jewelry fabrication. The upside to this is the return of sterling silver jewelry; the downside is that fewer pieces will be available. Our current business model of releasing a large collection of pieces at one time is not supportable when one woman is now doing the work previously done by two. So this new collection is a little bit smaller and future releases will probably consist of only a few pieces at a time, but hopefully they will be more frequent than what we offered last year. All sales will be preceeded by an emailed announcement as usual.

The upcoming release is an eclectic assortment of sterling silver rings, necklaces and one bracelet. Some very special rings will be for sale featuring tiny cast sterling animals modeled on Zuni fetish figures from the American Southwest. Another new ring design offered is the knuckleduster. This ring has two bands which are fitted to the middle and ring finger. Please note that the one for sale in this release is made specifically to fit the left hand of a Soom Super Gem boy and should not be purchased for other dolls. We welcome feedback on doll types for whom you'd like to see this ring style made in the future! Necklaces in the collection feature a few new chain sizes and types: a fabulously glittery but still masculine Venetian box chain, a slender version of our standard rolo chain, a long-and-short patterned cable chain with both flat and textured links, and an incredibly fine one millimeter cable chain that drapes like water. Gemstones used cover the almost full spectrum: garnet, carnelian, citrine, peridot, opal, and moonstone. Two pieces feature beads gleaned from our very limited supply: vintage liquid silver tube beads and Venetian glass beads hand-carried home from the island of Murano. Please do not miss your chance on these, as they are least likely to be offered again!

Two new models appear in the lineup for this release. Sverre is a Migidoll Standard Noel on the Migidoll body and Raphael is a Volks Cristal on an SD Graffiti boy body. Both belong to St. James. Also new to the household but not appearing in this collection: idrisfynn's Volks Charlotte and St. James' Volks Lieselotte, so we can now offer pieces fitted specifically to Volks SD girls!

upcoming changes to orangebabydolly jewelry
September, 2010

We have an important and somewhat difficult announcement to make this month. The September jewelry release will be our second to last auction. We will have one more release before the end of the year. Five years and 2500 pieces of jewelry later, we have decided to face the facts: we are women not machines. orangebabydolly has still not regained sensation in her hands, so working on doll-scale jewelry is largely an exercise in frustration and she has been transitioning back to more human-sized jewelry of late. idrisfynn has found that the roughly 50,000 photos she's taken have sharpened her skills quite a bit, but she'd like a chance to focus on something other than the neck part of her dolls. St. James is planning to put her newly acquired ring-making skills to good use decorating her own dolls for a change (and filling a few orders too!).

To be absolutely clear: we are not closing up shop. We will still be accepting orders for a limited number of basic items per month. We are leaving open the possibility that we will have occasional auctions in the future. We will maintain our mailing list and announce any sales ahead of time. We may even attend conventions as a vendor if our schedules allow it. We just need to give ourselves more room to manoeuvre, as it were.

So enough of the personal stuff, now for the shiny stuff! The upcoming release features an earthy, tactile assortment of necklaces and bracelets: deep toned glass beads from the Naga tribe, gorgeously aged conch shells from Nepal, African metals mixed with vintage watch parts, and some stunning artifacts from Mauritania. The bracelets do not require the removal of your doll's hand as have some of our pieces in the past. These either button around the wrist or slide open to slip over the hand. Please take note of the maximum expansion measurement listed for the adjustable bracelets.

We have two new models for this release, both of whom belong to idrisfynn. Swift is an Astral in Rainbow Ruy on an Aria Classic 16yr boy body. Liam is an Immortality of Soul Anos on a Luts Senior Delf boy body. You can learn more about them on our recently updated profile pages.

an evolving art form
July, 2010

It is time for our next bi-monthly jewelry auction! The July jewelry selection features tribal artifacts from Africa and Asia mixed with exotic hardwood elements. The new pendant designs for this release were hand carved by orangebabydolly using Gaboon ebony and then inlaid with sterling silver. All endangered woods used for our jewelry were responsibly acquired and came primarily from a violin restorer's offcuts.

The three of us are struggling with our assorted physical limitations, but we are doing our best to continue to provide you with the highest quality jewelry for your dolls. orangebabydolly is still unable to do any small scale sterling silver fabrication or stone setting but St. James has now been trained to take over the task of basic ring making. We hope to re-open ordering for sterling and gemstone rings very soon! Our dwindling supply of jewelry stock on hand is listed on our webshop or in our sales thread in the Den of Angels marketplace. In other happy news, idrisfynn has made an almost complete recovery from the surgery that prevented her from taking the photos for our previous sale.

We have one guest model this month, Bijan an iplehouse Akando. New to the household is a Volks SD Graffiti boy for idrisfynn, on the way is a Migidoll boy for St. James, and orangebabydolly is on the hunt for an iplehouse Ashanti EID girl, so we'll have more doll types around for size comparisons in the near future.

The July jewelry release will be listed on eBay in auction format on the first of the month. Please click on the photo to view the complete preview of the July jewelry:

new jewelry and a new schedule
May, 2010

At long last we are ready to open for another jewelry sale! We thank you for your patience and many kind words of support. orangebabydolly jewels will be released on a more limited basis in the future. This will allow us more free time to pursue other aspects of the doll hobby and also allow orangebabydolly to focus a little more energy on her human-sized jewelry. At the moment we are hoping to keep to a schedule of one release every other month. A newsletter will precede each release. orangebabydolly is still unable to do any small scale sterling silver fabrication or stone setting so we can not currently accept any orders for custom work and ring sales are limited to stock on hand. All stock on hand is listed on our webshop or in our sales thread in the Den of Angels marketplace.

The May release will be antique and tribal pieces featuring Pre-Columbian, Indian and African artifacts. We have been selling orangebabydolly's tradmark "meteorite finish" pieces since 2007, but it has been a very very long time since we've released a piece with featuring the original inspiration so don't miss the Odessa meteorite necklace in this release! New this month are three necklaces scaled specifically for the elder iple house superhero boys. You'll see Radu, our guest model Luo, wearing these pieces for us. Also new in the studio this month is St. James' new Super Gem Bix. A series of fortunate events led to Pierce getting this fabulous new Soom shell, with whom we are all quite pleased.

The May jewelry release will be listed on eBay in auction format. Please click to view the complete preview of the May jewels:

healing
March, 2010

We are very pleased to report that orangebabydolly is recovering from her nerve injury. She is slowly regaining sensation on her left side, so it looks like we should be back in business in another month or so. Thank you so much for all of the kind words of encouragement we received!

This month orangebabydolly moved to a new apartment with a much larger space for her jewelry studio! As soon as the studio is unpacked, she expects to be able to begin working on the current list of special orders.

on hiatus
February, 2010

As many of you have already heard, orangebabydolly was injured in late December and sustained some nerve damage that has left her partially numb. Understandably, she has found it impossible to work on tiny doll jewelry without any sensation in her hands. We are all hoping that with the proper care and attention, she will recover and be able to make tiny lovely things again. For now, we can only say that there will be no new jewelry release for February or March. When orangebabydolly recovers her first priority will be filling the remaining special orders that are still on our list.

The remainder of what jewelry we have available for sale is listed on our website. There is an up-to-date list of available rings posted in our thread in the Den of Angels marketplace. We're happy to accept orders via email or via private message on DoA.

Winter Solstice Sale!
January, 2009

Happy Holidays to all! We hope you spend them warmed by the company of family and friends.

We are sending out our January newsletter a little early to let you know that there will not be a January jewelry release. This December has been an extraordinarily busy month and we do not have enough time to produce any new pieces. In lieu of an eBay release, however, we have added to our website a selection of limited jewelry pieces that are ready to ship. Click here to see the selection of jewelry that is on sale.

We have also opened two other pages in our web shop. In addition to the many ring styles that can be custom ordered, we have now made several necklace, bracelet and hair ornament designs available for reproduction at any time. These pieces can be made to fit both mini and larger sized dolls.

We did mention last month that we would be closed from December 22nd through 31st, but we will be responding to emails during that time. Any purchases made during that week will be shipped the first week of January.

best wishes for the holidays!
December, 2009

The December release marks a return to the delicate side of orangebabydolly with Balinese silver floral elements and soft green jewels playing a large part in the designs. This month we introduce a new variation on the solid silver collar, two new sleek and modern ring designs, and a new hand-fabricated loop pendant that appears in several forms. We have some sets for smaller dolls in this release; please note the measurements of both ring and necklace before making your purchases. We also have a few necklaces that, while not shown on slender mini-sized dolls, are a fine enough scale to be worn by them.

One of our recent arrivals rejoined the ranks of the jewelry models this month. Wolfgang, once idrisfynn's Euclase, now makes a second appearance as a Super Gem Chrom!

orangebabydolly jewels will be closed from December 22 through December 31st. Any requests made during that time will be replied to during the first week of January. We hope you get to enjoy some time off during the holiday as well!

The December jewelry release will be listed on eBay in Buy-It-Now format. Please click to view the complete preview of the December jewels:

remnants of another age
November, 2009

We return from our one month hiatus with a selection of antique pieces for larger dolls. The November release will be in auction format and will feature antique and ancient artifacts from around the world: Pre-Colombian shell, Mauritanian amazonite, Moroccan coral, Afghan lapis lazuli, Ancient Puebloan pottery, Indian silver, Dutch glass, Nigerian brass and more! Due to time constraints we do not have a complete preview to show you this month, but the auctions will last for seven days so please read the descriptions carefully and feel free to ask questions before bidding.

We did not use any new models for our photos this month, but some changes have been made behind the scenes. orangebabydolly bid a reluctant farewell to Ysaana her Elf Chiwoo girl this month. A Volks SD10 Kanata named Dorian followed St. James home from Japan and idrisfynn's Soom Super Gem Chrom arrived to take the spot recently vacated by Euclase.

We are already recieving special orders for holiday gift jewelry. If you plan to order jewelry that you will need delivered by mid-December we recommend that you place your orders soon!

geologic with a little of the mechanic
September, 2009

This month we bring you more of orangebabydolly's earth inspired forms - cratered landscapes, channels sheltering gemstones, seeds nestled into fissures - and combine them with more urban pieces using precisely machined copper, hand hammered rivets and vintage watch parts. Orangebabydolly revisits the torque style hammered necklaces in this release and several of them are sized specifically for Super Gem girls (because she now has one of her own) so please make note of the measurements provided in the preview.

Two new dolls modeled our jewelry this month: Lena, a Volks F-36 SD16 girl owned by idrisfynn, and Daniel the Volks Genji whom St. James has been working on for a while but who now pilots a Dollshe DSAM35 body so jewelry fits rather differently than it had. We hope to coax orangebabydolly's Soom Heliot girl into the studio soon. ^__^

There will not be a release or a newsletter for the month of October and the shop will be closed for two weeks while St. James and idrisfynn vacation in Japan. We will return in November with a selection of antique and tribal pieces. Thank you for your patience!

new styles for summer!
August, 2009

We hope this letter finds you well. July is the foggiest month of the year here in San Francisco and the three of us have been fighting off summer colds. This has slowed down our updates to our website, but we will soon be expanding the shop to include necklaces, bracelets and hair pieces that can me made to order at any time just like our rings.

Our models this month are familiar faces but a couple of changes have been made: Magnus, idrisfynn's SA Bermann, has an exquisite new face-up from esthetics by lyn. The Volks Johanna head makes it's second appearance, but this time as a boy! Kaspar apparently needed an open-eyed head as an alternate to his sly Shiwoo self and so has claimed it as his own second aspect. St. James apologizes for any confustion this may cause. ^__~

The August release features a few new concepts using the vintage watch parts from the cache first introduced in the May release: working lockets, leather amulets and cuff bracelets, and rivets! We also introduce a new style of clasp using a button and knotted cord (rather than macramé) and a new crescent-shaped pectoral style of pendant. Since quite a few of these pieces contain vintage parts or antique tribal beads, they cannot be reproduced but we will be listing the August eBay release in Buy-it-Now format, so please pay close attention to the time it will be uploaded to eBay.

new organic forms
July, 2009

We will now be accepting orders directly from our website for an expanded selection of custom made rings and we will soon add a selection of other non-limited jewelry pieces such as necklaces, bracelets and hair ornaments that can be reproduced upon request. We will still maintain a sales thread in the new Den of Angels accessories marketplace subforum if you prefer to communicate via private message.

We had a wonderful time at the GoGaDoll convention this month. It was quite a success for us and it was fantastic to see so many familiar faces! Thank you so much to all of our customers who were kind enough to stop by our booth and say hello!

This month's jewelry release features a series of new organically inspired necklace designs and a few classics with some exceptionally lovely semi-precious gemstones. Sizes range from 14cm for the large dolls like SD16 and SD17 boys to small for Volks MSDs and Delf girls.

Three new models worked for us this month: Pierce, a Leeke Lyonne on a Luts Senior Delf boy body; Lyris, the ghostly Soom Super Gem Shadow Onyx; and a Volks SD16 Johanna girl who is already much loved but as yet unnamed. You can now read more about our dolls in the profile pages of our website!

The July eBay release will be sold in Buy-It-Now format. Please click to view the complete preview of the July jewels:

grand opening
June, 2009

We are very pleased to open our website to the public! We have been selling handcrafted jewelry for ABJDs since 2005, and we are very excited to finally have our own little spot on the web. Thank you for visiting us!

Most of what you will see here is pretty self-explanatory, but we’d like to give you a brief tour.

This page will contain the latest general news about orangebabydolly jewels. We will still be sending out our monthly newsletter however, so if you are not currently subscribed and would like to know more about upcoming releases, please contact us.

This website is primarily an archive for orangebabydolly’s work. The galleries currently contain jewelry made only in the last six months but earlier pieces will be added along with newer pieces. Much of the jewelry made by orangebabydolly contains antique artifacts or found objects and thus cannot be reproduced. This catalog will allow others to enjoy these unique pieces even though they are in private collections.

In our web shop you can browse through an expanded selection of rings that can be made to order at anytime. We may not have photographic examples of all of the possibilities, so please feel free to make a request even if you do not see the stone type or ring style you would like for your doll. Our monthly sales of new necklaces and other limited jewelry pieces will still be conducted on eBay.

Meet the models in our profile pages! In addition to a little bit of personal information about our dolls, we have posted their jewelry sizing information. If you own the same type of doll or want to know if your doll is a similar size to one we own, you can look here to get a better idea of just how lovely our jewelry will look on your doll.

This little jewelry business has introduced us to so many people who started out as customers and who have become treasured friends. We love to hear from other enthusiastic ABJD owners and best of all we love to see all of the beautiful dolls who wear our jewelry! Our information page contains all of the details on how to contact us.

new metals for may
May, 2009

The May release of jewelry is a little bit different that what we have offered in the past. It has been several years since orangebabydolly used copper for any doll jewelry, but she has recently been using the metal for human-sized jewelry and realized that some of her designs were only feasible at doll scale. The styles of this month's necklaces are unmistakeably orangebabydolly, but the warmth of the copper and brass lends them a different feel than the pieces made from sterling silver. Midway through the creation of this month's release St. James and idrisfynn happened upon a cache of vintage watch parts and delivered them to the studio. The round forms of the tiny gears and screws integrated themselves into this collection in a surprisingly natural way! This release was definitely a labor of love for orangebabydolly. Many of the May necklaces feature chain in which she hand made every individual ring. Because these pieces are very labor intensive, they will not be duplicated. Some pieces can be re-sized upon request if arrangements are made before the auctions end. We will certainly offer more jewelry in this style in the future, but no two pieces will be alike.

Copper will tarnish over time, especially when exposed to humidity and salt air. If you tend to leave jewelry on your dolls for extended periods of time, we recommend that you keep your pieces clean where they come into contact with resin. A brass wire brush, a polishing cloth or a green 3m scouring pad will do nicely for this task. We never recommend the use of any heavy duty metal polishing solutions. Any orangebabydolly jewelry can always be returned to us for cleaning for the price of postage.

Two new dolls modeled jewelry for us this month. The smokey gray Soom Super Gem Euclase is idrisfynn's new boy Wolfgang. St. James' updated version of Delphine, a Soom Super Gem Light Onyx, also makes her first appearance. In addition to now being able to offer precise fittings for both Soom Super Gem types, we also have a new Dollshe DSAM body and a set of Iplehouse Elder hands so we can accept custom orders for all ring styles for these new very big boys.

We will be attending the Golden Gate Ball Jointed Doll Association Convention June 19th through 21st. If you plan to be in San Francisco that weekend, please stop by and say hello! We are always delighted to meet our customers and their dolls in person! In order to prepare for what is always a very busy weekend for us, we will not be offering a June release on eBay.

The May eBay release will be sold in seven day auction format. Please click on the photo below to view the complete preview of the May jewels.

spring has arrived!
April, 2009

And with Spring comes new designs from orangebabydolly! The April release of jewelry is all sterling silver and is comprised mostly of necklaces. There are three themes of note in this release. We are very excited to present new cold forged torque style necklaces and arm bands. The torque style necklaces sometimes require the removal of the doll's head to put them on, but they are strong enough to be slightly adjustable. Also new are several pendants directly inspired by orangebabydolly's visit to Maori tribal lands in New Zealand. Thirdly, orangebabydolly has created a few sterling silver pendants based on some of the African tribal artifacts she was using in her human-sized jewelry this month.

The April jewelry release will be listed in Buy-it-Now format. Most of the pieces in this month's release can be duplicated upon request if you miss your chance on eBay. Please click on the photo below to view the complete preview of the April release.

rare treasures offered for march!
March, 2009

Greetings all! We hope this letter finds you well. orangebabydolly has returned refreshed from a trip to New Zealand where she had a fabulous time doing things like free rappelling four hundred feet down into a cave to swim in an underground river and admire ancient fossils!

Ancient things are the theme this month, as orangebabydolly has decided to offer up more amazing beads from her personal hoard. The necklaces include Bactrian carnelian beads from the second millenium BCE, Roman glass, Ethiopian silver protective amulets, agate beads excavated from the city of Djenne, and coral gathered hundreds of years ago from the beaches of Morocco and Mauritania. The beads in this release were made as long ago as four thousand years and their origins span the globe from Papua to Iran, from Central America to Central Africa. Please devote a little extra attention to the Berber style necklace pictured below, as to date it is easily the most complex and time-consuming piece orangebabydolly has had the pleasure to create!

The March jewelry will be listed in auction format. The auctions will active for seven days so you will have plenty of time to make inquiries. If you would like to know if a necklace will fit a particular doll you own, please do ask as these pieces cannot be resized. Sometimes the construction of a necklace requires a specific neck size in order to drape the way orangebabydolly intends. The individual necklace descriptions will indicate when this is the case by noting a "best fit" measurement.

Click on the photo below to view the complete preview of the March release.

happy valentine's day!
February, 2009

We have a lovely assortment of jewels for your dolls this month: Sterling silver necklaces, collars and hair ornaments featuring garnets, moonstones, pink and blue sapphires, citrines, aquamarines and hematite.

Our jewelry models for February include some familiar faces and some new faces. Kaspar, Ysaana and Pauline are joined by idrisfynn's newly revamped Maeve who is still a Dollfie Dream girl but now wears a K-Doll Kael head. Also new in the studio is Martine, a Soom Super Gem Deneb boy who belongs to St. James.

The February jewelry will be listed in Buy-It-Now format. This format does not give buyers very much time to evaluate each piece before it sells, therefore we always include previews and encourage you to make any inquiries you may have before the date of the release. If you would like to know if a particular necklace will fit a particular doll you own, please do ask. It is very important to us that every customer be pleased with their purchases!

Click on the photo below to view the complete preview of the February release.

happy new year!
January, 2009

We hope you had a relaxing holiday and we wish you health and prosperity in 2009!

The latest release from orangebabydolly jewels will feature necklaces, bracelets and hair ornaments. The January release also sees the return of deep blue and blush pink sapphires. We use natural gemstones whenever possible, but sapphires are only affordable if they are grown in a laboratory. The actual structure of the sapphires is the same as mined gemstones, but the conditions in which they form were reproduced artificially. We always make a note in our descriptions if a gemstone is lab grown.

The lovely and earthy Eheieh models our jewelry for the first time this month. Eheieh is orangebabydolly's own Mecha Angel Saiph and she wears a selection of hair ornaments and some extra large necklaces suitable for most of the largest dolls out there (the exception being the Elder Iplehouse boys). Eheieh is joined by some guest models this month. Courtesy of two generous local friends, we are able to show you jewelry on a few types of dolls we don't own ourselves: Soom Gem boy, Iplehouse Model boy, Volks SD10 girl and Volks SD10 boy.

The January jewelry will be listed in Buy-It-Now format. Remember to check the size of each piece to make sure it will fit your doll properly! If you miss out on a piece that you wanted, it never hurts to ask for a reproduction. Especially with pieces that are entirely hand-fabricated, it is often possible for orangebabydolly to create something similar to fit your doll. Please note that we will not be filling any special order requests during the month of February as orangebabydolly will be traveling to New Zealand.

best wishes to you and yours!
December, 2008

Best wishes to you and yours!

We have prepared an assortment of lovely things for the resin lords and ladies this month. We introduce a new style of sterling silver chain which is an extremely fine bead chain. We have more hair ornaments, some of which are a small enough scale that they work well for mini-sized dolls as well as larger dolls. The December release also features a new style of solid silver collar which essentially clips onto the neck and then ties with ribbons at the back. These collars can be very slightly adjusted but we recommend them for the specific sizes noted in their respective descriptions.

This month we welcome not two new doll models but two newly re-envisioned dolls. St. James' Delf Miyu Anastasia has been replaced with a Fairyland Feeple Ashley, and idrisfynn's Delf El Idris has been replaced with a Volks F-30. Their bodies remain the same, only their heads have changed. Parting our company out of necessity are orangebabydolly's Delf Moon Taliesin and Delf Miyu/Feeple hybrid Aeon.

happy halloween!
November, 2008

We have safely returned from our various travels and we're happy to offer you a new assortment of sterling silver ornaments for your dolls! We hope that those of you who requested more hair ornaments will be please with this month's selection. We have many more hair sticks like those sold in September and two entirely new types: barrettes and hair cuffs.

excitement is in the air!
October, 2008

This is a month of travel for us at orangebabydolly. In a few days, St. James will be heading to Ohio to join the International Association for BJD Artists Workshop Retreat to play at dollmaking. Meanwhile, idrisfynn will enjoy having the run of the apartment. That same week, Orangebabydolly will be taking a much deserved vacation in Japan for most of October!

The shop will remain open for the sale of in stock items, but any special orders placed during this month will take an additional few weeks to be filled. Thank you for your patience and understanding!

This October's release is a a very special one. The entire selection of necklaces was made using antique African tribal elements, and the most unique beads come from Orangebabydolly's personal collection. Every size is represented, from mini to extra-large.

greetings to all!
September, 2008

We hope you had a relaxing summer!

Orangebabydolly has been working hard to create new and exciting jewelry to tempt your dolls!

This release focuses primarily on pieces for the larger boy dolls, but there will be some very choice things for girls as well.

We debut a new jewelry category this month: hair ornaments. The hair sticks and combs you will see in this release are just the beginning!

Also new is the cold forging technique used to create some of the pieces for September. This is a very laborious (and noisy!) process so cold forged pieces will be offered only intermittently.

In the near future, the polished spike ring introduced in this release will be added to our selection of ring styles that can be made to order in any size.

One new doll model makes an appearance this month, St. James' Dollstown Elysia girl Pauline.

orangebabydolly returns!
August 2008

We were thrilled to attend San Francisco's Dollectable convention again this year. A big thanks to those of you who were there and stopped by our booth to say hello! It was a delight to chat with so many of our regular customers and admire their dolls in person!

Some of you may have already noticed the minor changes we have made to our ring sizing chart. We have decided to add an additional size and rename an existing size, so we'll go over all of them once more here:

Dollshe boys and Senior Delf boys were previously grouped in the large size, but have now been given their own extra large size. Volks SD16 boys, DollZone 70cm boys, Elysium boys, and Bishonen House boys wear the size that is now designated xxl.

This month's release consists primarily of small and medium sized necklace and ring sets. Please check the sizes ahead of time so that you can be certain that both the necklace and ring will fit the doll of your choice.

greetings to our ever expanding list of readers!

Before discussing the details of the June release we'd like to explain a little bit about our necklace sizing for those who are new to orangebabydolly's work. In our eBay listing titles we note the general size category into which each piece falls. These categories are as follows:

We also note more details about the fit of each necklace in its detailed description. Necklaces with lariat style clasps are listed with the maximum neck circumference the necklace can accomodate rather than the actual length of the chain. Necklaces that have a recommended "best fit" were designed with a particular size of doll in mind and will only look the way orangebabydolly intended them to appear when worn by that size of doll. Most necklaces consisting of a pendant on a single strand of chain with a back clasp do not have such notations and can be worn by any type of doll that measures smaller than the given length of chain. Mature mini girls, for example, can happily wear our 9cm pieces even though we do not own one to serve as a jewelry model.

We do have a new mini joining our model lineup this month: Balthazar is a Volks MSD Schulze. He and our other new arrival Bainbridge, a Kanon Yui on a Volks SD13 boy body, belong to idrisfynn.

The June release features a celestial motif again, this time in the form of stars. There is an impressive amount of detail in some pieces this month, so be sure to look closely at the clasps! All of our semiprecious gemstones are natural unless otherwise noted. For the first time we will be offering rune rings in smaller sizes, and the spiral ring not seen since our very early days has been brought back for this release in a much more polished form.
